400G and 800G

Infinite Network Scalability Network architectures are changing, making it more important than ever for cloud operators and service providers to prepare their networks for the unexpected. A 10x increase in application and service data centers is driving demand for improved performance and scalable technology. Juniper's 400G and 800G routing and switching portfolio provides the industry's most comprehensive and powerful platform to improve customer experience. Choose from Juniper's broad 400G and 800G portfolio, including PTX Series Packet Transport Routers, MX Series General Purpose Routing Platforms, ACX Series General Purpose Metro Routers, and QFX Series Switches. These solutions improve performance and sustained efficiency across your infrastructure while keeping your network secure, versatile, and cost-optimized for the "experience-first" era.   Performance at Scale Juniper's custom silicon solutions deliver hyperscale telemetry so you can s...

What are the advantages of GPON technology?

The main advantage that GPON has over other connection types is its fiber optic design. Compared to the more common copper wire, optical fiber transmits signals as photons instead of electrons – hence the name “optical”. therefore does not have the same limitations as traditional twisted pair connections. Instead, it has the following advantages: • Faster connection speeds The optical fiber in a Gigabyte PON network essentially transmits light. And nothing travels faster than light, at least in our universe. This allows Gigabyte PON to transmit data at extremely high speeds, up to 2.488 Gb/s to be precise. • Energy efficiency. In order for a signal to be transmitted, it must pass through several points, as mentioned above. However, all these points are passive and do not require additional energy to power them. As a result, the final energy consumption of Gigabyte PON is much lower, for example 0.5 watts/user compared to 1.8 watts/user for ADSL PON. This ...
